Another earthquake caused strong shaking in Bac Tra My

Over the past week, in Bac Tra My district (Quang Nam), earthquakes have continuously occurred, causing people's previous insecurity to return.

On the morning of July 5, Mr. Ho Van Loi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tra Doc commune (Bac Tra My district) said that two consecutive earthquakes had just occurred in the commune, accompanied by loud explosions underground.

“The two earthquakes were only about 1 minute apart. At that time, the ground exploded violently and lasted for about 6 seconds. Sitting in the stilt house, I could clearly feel the shaking. Recently, earthquakes have been happening continuously, and I, like many people, am a bit worried,” said Mr. Loi.

Meanwhile, according to the announcement of the Institute of Geophysics, the earthquake occurred at 4:46:59 on July 5 with a magnitude of 2.7 on the Richter scale.

According to the Institute of Geophysics, the earthquake occurred at coordinates 15.37 degrees north latitude, 108.092 degrees east longitude, with a focal depth of about 5.5 km, in Bac Tra My district.

The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center (Institute of Geophysics) is monitoring this earthquake.

Previously, at 1:18:49 on June 30, an earthquake measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale occurred in Bac Tra My district. About 1 minute later, at 1:19:38 on the same day, another earthquake measuring 1.7 on the Richter scale occurred.

In another development, the Institute of Geophysics said that an earthquake also occurred at another location in Quang Nam on the afternoon of July 4.

Specifically, at 2:50 p.m. and 43 seconds on July 4, an earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Que Son district, at coordinates 15.701 degrees north latitude, 107.989 degrees east longitude; focal depth of about 7 km.
