The first dairy farm in Southeast Asia to meet international standards.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 18th, at the Vinamilk dairy farm in Nghia Dan district, the Global GAP Control Union awarded Vinamilk's farm the Global GAP certification. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Cas Vander Horst - Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to Vietnam, Mr. Le Quoc Doanh - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, as well as representatives from central and local ministries and agencies.

The Global GAP ConTrolUnion organization has awarded Vinamilk's farm the Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) international standard certificate.

Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh – Member of the Provincial Party Committee – Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented a certificate of commendation to Vinamilk for its numerous charitable and humanitarian activities in Nghe An.

Vinamilk's "Rising Vietnam" milk fund donated nearly 71,550 glasses of milk to underprivileged children in Nghe An province.

Global GAP is a farm management tool aimed at meeting domestic and international market demands for product quality and food safety, enhancing product quality and value, thereby ensuring efficient and sustainable use of agricultural production resources, contributing to the enrichment of farmers and rural development, and protecting the environment and overall landscape. The Nghe An farm of Vietnam Dairy Cattle Company (a subsidiary of Vinamilk) began implementing the Global GAP standard in September 2013. After eight months of implementation, the Nghe An farm was assessed and certified by the organization. The company is continuing to implement the Global GAP standard assessment for all remaining Vinamilk farms nationwide. Previously, all five Vinamilk farms had achieved ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification from Bureau Veritas (France).

Vinamilk's farm in Nghe An is the first farm in Southeast Asia to be certified by Global GAP and one of only three farms in Asia to achieve Global GAP certification. Achieving Global GAP certification will help Vinamilk build greater customer trust; enhance its reputation and competitiveness in the market; elevate its market standing; meet the requirements of demanding customers in markets such as Europe and the US; provide an advantage in contract signing and bidding; officially declare its commitment to ensuring quality and safety and continuous improvement to meet the ever-increasing demands of customers; ensure efficient and sustainable use of agricultural production resources; and comply with the regulations of the State and countries where Vinamilk plans to sell its products, both now and in the future, regarding quality management.

At the ceremony, Vinamilk's "Rising Vietnam" Milk Fund also donated nearly 71,550 glasses of milk to poor children in Nghe An province.
