(Baonghean) - This is Comrade Vi Van Tu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Mass Mobilization Department of Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district. Following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on mass mobilization cadres, who "must think with their minds, observe with their eyes, listen with their ears, walk with their feet, speak with their mouths, and work with their hands," Comrade Vi Van Tu, undeterred by difficulties, dedicated much time to visiting grassroots levels, listening to opinions, and mobilizing the people to actively convert arid, water-scarce rice fields and other arable land to cultivate high-economic-value crops.

Since 2012, together with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, we have advised the Party Committee to issue a resolution directing the conversion of rice-growing land and alluvial land to the cultivation of cash crops such as green pumpkins and watermelons, a breakthrough in economic development. Thanks to this correct policy, along with the genuine involvement of the cadres, especially the exemplary role of the head of the mass mobilization unit who wholeheartedly served the people, households have boldly bid for alluvial land to develop economic models combining livestock farming with high-yield, high-income crop cultivation. As a result, in two years (2013-2014), the entire commune converted 101 hectares of alluvial land across 7 villages: Cang, Xieng, Thai Son 1, Thai Son 2, Tan Son, Cua Rao, and Nam Son. The average value of the converted land is many times higher than that of rice, contributing to poverty alleviation in Mon Son, and is one of the bright spots in the democratic regulations in mobilizing people to consolidate and exchange land plots according to Directive 08-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee.

Furthermore, Comrade Vi Van Tu's role as a dedicated head of mass mobilization was also demonstrated in the propaganda and mobilization of the people to implement the Mon Son market planning project. The market was a very complex area because it directly involved the interests of many households. Recognizing this, he directed the mass mobilization unit to get involved, organizing numerous meetings with relevant parties, and instructing the mass organizations to coordinate with specialized departments to educate traders, promptly addressing any newly arising problems at the grassroots level, and facilitating the acceleration of the Mon Son market's operation. Through these practical actions, Head of Mass Mobilization Vi Van Tu contributed to the commune's Party Committee achieving the "Strong and Excellent Party Committee" rating for many consecutive years, the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations receiving excellent ratings from higher levels, and especially the Women's Union of the commune receiving commendations and emulation flags from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union for many consecutive years.
