Thuong objected. When Thuong bent down to cut the banana trees, Kinh, standing behind him, struck him on the head with a shovel. The blow was so strong that Thuong fell. Kinh then continued to strike Thuong in the chest with the shovel, rendering him unconscious. As a result, Thuong was hospitalized in critical condition.

After being transferred from Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi to Nghe An Provincial Friendship General Hospital, Mr. Thuong is still in critical condition. Currently, the victim is paralyzed in both legs. According to medical record number 2653/KHTH from Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi, tests show that the patient has right-sided hemiplegia, traumatic brain injury, temporal lobe brain parenchyma hemorrhage, temporal subdural hematoma, and a skull bone fragment embedded in the brain.
The incident occurred on September 23, 2014. The Nghi Loc District Police are currently awaiting the results of the forensic examination before deciding whether to initiate criminal proceedings.
