Children with mental disorders due to too much extra classes

At a press conference on World Mental Health Day (October 10), Hanoi Mental Hospital said that in the past three years, the number of children in Hanoi with mental health problems has increased.

Over 15% of surveyed students have problems with emotional expression and behavioral skills; hyperactivity accounts for 5% of primary school students. Some causes of mental disorders in children are game addiction, substance use, bullying and too much extra classes.

According to Professor Harry Minas, University of Melbourne (Australia), extra classes are a serious problem, the cause of mental disorders not only in Vietnam. Competition between students is a serious problem, the consequence of which is that children no longer have time to be children. "Is it because the quality of education is so poor that people have to let their children compete to take extra classes everywhere like that?", Professor Harry Minas raised the issue.
