In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the agency said: “The gunmen were eliminated by artillery fire after they shelled the positions of Ukrainian soldiers in the Donetsk airport area yesterday (November 6).”

In a related development, Ukrainian Security and Defense Council spokesman Andrei Lysenko announced that increased fighting in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions has left five government soldiers dead and 16 wounded in the past 24 hours.

He stressed that in the past day, rebel forces have received significant reinforcements as soldiers and equipment “crossed the border from Russia” into Ukraine.

In response to the above statement, the separatist press department accused the Ukrainian army of preparing to launch a new attack./.
