(Baonghean.vn) - On October 1st, the Monitoring Delegation of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council, led by Mr. Tran Cong Duong - Member of the Standing Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, and Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council, held a working session with Nam Dan district on the state management of historical and cultural relics.
After inspecting and monitoring several historical sites in the area, the monitoring team held a working session with leaders, departments, and localities in Nam Dan district that possess historical and cultural relics. As a locality with a rich and long-standing cultural and historical tradition, Nam Dan has a diverse system of historical and cultural relics. The entire district has 167 relics, 37 of which have been classified, including 24 national-level relics and 13 provincial-level relics. There are 130 relics that need to be documented for classification. Particularly, thanks to the attention of the government at all levels and the contributions of the people, the system of relics in the district is being protected, restored, renovated, and its value is being promoted in many aspects, especially in educating the younger generation about traditional thoughts, ethics, and lifestyles. At the working session, Nam Dan district requested that the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee establish a mechanism to support the restoration and renovation of dilapidated relics. In particular, seriously degraded historical sites such as Hoanh Son communal house and King Mai temple need to be prioritized. The province should accelerate the process of documenting and recognizing these sites for management; and develop policies for historical site management teams and boards that are appropriate to the current situation.
