Promoting the value of cultural and historical relics

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 1, the Supervisory Delegation of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Society Committee led by Mr. Tran Cong Duong - Member of the Standing Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Head of the Culture and Society Committee of the Provincial People's Council had a working session with Nam Dan district on state management of historical and cultural relics.

After inspecting and supervising a number of historical relics in the area, the monitoring team had a working session with leaders, departments, branches and localities with historical and cultural relics of Nam Dan district. As a locality with a long history and cultural tradition, Nam Dan has a system of historical and cultural relics rich in content and diverse in types. The whole district has 167 relics, 37 of which have been ranked, of which 24 are national relics, 13 are provincial relics, and 130 relics need to be classified. With special attention from authorities at all levels and contributions from the people, the system of relics in the district is being protected, restored, embellished and promoted in many aspects, especially the value of educating traditional ideology, ethics and lifestyle for the younger generation. At the meeting, Nam Dan district proposed that the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee should have a mechanism to support the restoration and embellishment of degraded relics, especially seriously degraded relics such as Hoanh Son communal house and Vua Mai temple. The province needs to step up the process of compiling records to recognize relics for management; policies for relic management teams and boards should be appropriate to the current situation.

Overview of the working session

On behalf of the monitoring delegation, comrade Tran Cong Duong acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved in the work of preserving, exploiting and promoting the value of cultural and historical relics in the area. In the coming time, the district needs to pay attention to promoting the value of relics associated with tourism development; well manage socialized resources for preserving and embellishing relics; pay attention to fire prevention and fighting, and environmental sanitation of the campus; strengthen coordination of relevant agencies in inventorying, classifying and ranking relics, developing plans to protect, restore and promote the value of relics in the area; summarize and replicate good relic management models...

The district's recommendations will be compiled by the delegation and recommended to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for consultation so that the Provincial People's Council can consider issuing a Resolution on state management of historical and cultural relics in the province.
