(Baonghean.vn) - To help farmers have a basis to choose good varieties with high yield, suitable for production conditions of the 2014 Winter crop, Dien Chau District Agricultural Extension Station cooperated with CP Vietnam Seed Company Limited to build a demonstration model of CP.111; CP.501 corn varieties in the field of Hamlet 13, Dien Trung Commune, Dien Chau District.

On November 29, 2014, Dien Chau Agricultural Extension Station coordinated with CP Vietnam Seed Company to organize a field workshop to check and evaluate the results of the model. CP.111; CP.501 corn varieties are hybrid corn varieties with an average growth period of 100 - 110 days, large and strong plants, able to withstand unusual weather conditions as well as good resistance to pests and diseases, large dark green leaves until the end of the season, bi-leaf covering the corn, large corn, thick grains, small cores, the yield assessment in the field of CP.111 variety is 6.8 tons/ha; CP.501 is 8.7 tons/ha; can be grown 3 crops per year. Mr. Hoang Van Thanh - Chairman of Tien Thanh Cooperative, Dien Thanh commented: CP.111 and CP.501 corn varieties are resistant to lodging, have large, wide leaves, and are steep, so they can be planted at high density. When harvesting corn, the leaves are still dark green, and can be used as animal feed. The yield is higher than other corn varieties that the locality is growing.

In his closing speech at the workshop, Mr. Phan Xuan Vinh - Head of the Department of Agriculture of Dien Chau district emphasized: The corn seeds of CP Vietnam Company have a brand name, especially the corn varieties CP.111; CP.501 are new, high-quality varieties with potential to be added to the spring and summer-autumn crop structure in 2015. He suggested that the Company continue to build a model in the spring crop of 2015 on a larger scale to confirm the potential, productivity and quality of the varieties./.
