Vietnam's Ka-28 helicopter lands on missile frigate
Ka-28 pilots of Brigade 954 successfully conducted landing and take-off training flights on Gepard 3.9 missile frigate.
Currently, the 954th Air Force Brigade, the Navy, has modern Ka-28 anti-submarine helicopters. Recently, the Brigade has conducted many training flights to improve the capabilities of the young pilots. Due to the nature of operating helicopters at sea, the pilots of the 954th Brigade must have experience in handling many arising situations.

The Navy currently has two missile frigates capable of receiving helicopters, the HQ-011 Dinh Tien Hoang and the HQ-012 Ly Thai To. The Ka-28 helicopter, when operating with the missile frigate, will perform missions such as: reconnaissance, maritime patrol, searching for and destroying submarines...
Taking off and landing (especially landing) on a ship is not simple. To be able to perform precise landing operations on a ship in conditions of shaking and rotation due to the influence of sea waves and helicopter blades, it is required that the relevant positions must coordinate closely during the flight, accurate landing will make the process of pulling the aircraft into the ship's hold easier.
Performing this training well is the premise for the Ka-28 pilots of Brigade 954 to perform more complex flights such as: long-distance flights, long-hour flights over the sea, night flights... ensuring the process of reconnaissance, detection, and designation of underground and surface targets is highly effective.
