(Baonghean.vn) - According to traditional customs, every year on the 12th day of the 2nd lunar month, Nghi Thuy Ward People's Committee coordinates with the Management Board of Mai Bang Temple Historical and Cultural Heritage to organize the Cau Ngu Festival, praying for favorable weather, calm seas and favorable weather for fishermen to catch a lot of seafood.

The festival commemorates the merits of General Chieu Trung Dai Vuong Le Khoi, a talented and virtuous general with many contributions to the Lam Son Uprising. It is also the death anniversary of Che Thang Phu Nhan Nguyen Thi Bich Chau, a beautiful and talented noble concubine, revered by the people as a sea goddess.
