A young man committed suicide by ingesting the leaves of the Gelsemium plant.

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 26th, Tri Le Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard Command) reported that a suicide case resulting in death by ingesting poisonous leaves had occurred in the unit's area.

The victim, Xong Po S (born in 1988, from Huoi Moi 1 village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province), committed suicide by eating poisonous leaves due to unresolved family conflicts.

The poisonous plant Gelsemium elegans, which contains deadly toxins, is commonly found in mountainous areas.

Due to severe poisoning, the victim passed away. The family and local community organized the funeral according to local customs and traditions.

* Two cattle thieves arrested.

On October 26th, the Thanh Thuy Border Gate Border Guard Station announced that, in coordination with relevant forces, they had arrested two individuals for stealing buffaloes.

In the Bai Duom area, in Hamlet 3, Thanh Thuy Commune, Thanh Chuong District, authorities apprehended Nguyen Van Tam, born in 1975, residing in Hamlet 4, Thanh Thuy Commune, Thanh Chuong District, and Tran Van Trong, born in 1976, residing in Kim Tien Hamlet, Vo Liet Commune, Thanh Chuong District, for stealing two buffaloes belonging to Mr. Vo Van Duong, residing in Hamlet 3, Thanh Thuy Commune, Thanh Chuong District.

The two buffaloes were valued at approximately 100 million VND. According to the suspects' confession, they intended to transport the two buffaloes to Ha Tinh province for sale. The case is currently under further investigation.
