National Assembly Electronic Information Portal Launched

On the morning of April 6th, at Ba Dinh Hall, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung pressed the button to officially launch the National Assembly's electronic information portal.

Also attending the opening ceremony were the Vice Chairpersons of the National Assembly: Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Huynh Ngoc Son, Uong Chu Luu, and leaders from many ministries, departments, and committees of the National Assembly.

According to Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Head of the National Assembly Office, to meet the requirements and demands of information and communication about the National Assembly in the current context of reform, in Resolution No. 27/2012/QH13, the National Assembly decided on many contents, including the establishment of the National Assembly's electronic information portal.

In implementing the National Assembly's Resolution, in 2013 the National Assembly Office launched the construction of an electronic information portal – an integrated unit for electronic administrative information and a multimedia information and communication agency of the National Assembly – based on the project "Upgrading the National Assembly's website into a National Assembly Electronic Information Portal".

The purpose of building the National Assembly's e-portal is to create an environment for communication, information provision, and dissemination of policies and guidelines, as well as to promote the image of the National Assembly to the people, voters at home, Vietnamese people abroad, and international friends in both Vietnamese and English.

Operating the National Assembly's e-portal is a step-by-step process of creating an online electronic service environment to support the operational processes and information technology applications of units under the National Assembly; ensuring coordination among each agency, unit, and National Assembly delegation in building an e-National Assembly.

Accordingly, the National Assembly's electronic portal integrates and updates information and images about the organization and activities of the National Assembly, the National Assembly leadership, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the National Council, and the Committees of the National Assembly, the Departments under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Office, the National Assembly delegations, and the National Assembly deputies.

Furthermore, the online National Assembly Television Channel allows viewers to watch and replay discussions during National Assembly sessions, Standing Committee meetings, and working sessions of National Assembly agencies. It integrates diverse systems, including an online draft page for public consultation on draft laws, a page for voters to ask representatives questions, a database of legal documents, etc. Convenient services and features are accessible from smartphones and tablets.
