Meeting to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the establishment of Naval Special Forces Brigade 126

(Baonghean.vn) - On April 11, 2015, in Vinh City, the Traditional Association of War Veterans of the 126th Naval Special Brigade in Nghe-Tinh region held a meeting to celebrate the 49th anniversary of its establishment (April 13, 1966 - April 13, 2015), towards the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

At the meeting, members and relatives of martyrs of the 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade reviewed the glorious tradition of the unit. Based on the achievements and combat effectiveness of the previously established Naval Special Forces Teams, on April 13, 1966, the Ministry of National Defense decided to establish the 126th Naval Special Forces Reconnaissance Training Group.

Relatives of martyrs and veterans of Brigade 126 also returned to the meeting.

From its founding to April 30, 1975, the Group provided support to the battlefield with 44 special forces teams, contributing many feats to the cause of national liberation, and was twice awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. These include feats in Cua Viet (Quang Tri), the Southeast battlefield (Sac forest) and contributing to the liberation of Truong Sa archipelago...

Comrade Nguyen Huu Dong - Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of the 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade in Nghe-Tinh region read a speech reviewing the unit's traditions.

At the meeting, members also discussed plans to help each other in life and build charity houses for members in difficult circumstances.
