Winning on penalties, HAGL U.19 advances to the final of the International U21 tournament.

Despite dominating possession, U19 HA.GL were unable to break through the U21 Vietnam defense and had to settle the semi-final match of the Thanh Nien Newspaper International U21 Tournament on the afternoon of October 25th in Can Tho City with a penalty shootout. With Mạnh Hùng and Phi Sơn failing to convert their penalties, U21 Vietnam had to watch U19 HA.GL advance to the final.

A large crowd of spectators was present in the stadium to cheer on the young Vietnamese players.

Despite being the older team, the Vietnam U21 team opted for a defensive counter-attacking style against HAGL U19. In the first half and for most of the match, HAGL U19 played better and dominated possession.

However, the final shots from Coach Graechen's players lacked the necessary sharpness to score a goal.

On the Vietnamese U21 side, they proactively played defensively in their own half, even opting for a tough style of play and committing fouls when necessary to prevent attacks from the younger HAGL U19 players.

The HAGL U.19 players played very confidently. They had more possession of the ball from the opening whistle.

After 90 minutes of play ending in a draw, the two teams had to go to a penalty shootout to determine which team would play in the final.

In the tense penalty shootout, U19 HAGL proved to be the more composed team and won 4-3 to advance to the final.
