If you haven't made any specific plans for your upcoming vacation with family or friends, then Khe Ro, Bai Lu, Cat Tien, Phan Thiet, etc., are destinations you shouldn't miss.

If you didn't have time to book a tour or plan ahead for your upcoming long vacation, consider the destinations below. You can travel independently for 2-3 days without worrying too much about train, bus, or plane tickets, allowing you to enjoy your upcoming days off.

Departing from Hanoi

Located within the Tay Yen Tu Nature Reserve, in An Lac commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province, Khe Ro ecotourism area boasts pristine and captivating beauty with a rich and rare flora and fauna. It is also situated in an area inhabited by 12 ethnic minority villages, including the Tay, Dao, Cao Lan, and San Chi, creating an attractive community tourism destination.

Activities in Khe Ro include swimming in streams, climbing waterfalls, fishing, adventurous mountain climbing, cycling, hiking to ethnic minority villages, visiting rattan weaving cooperatives, and having bonfires... You can choose to stay in hotels, wooden houses, stilt houses, or bring your own tent to camp.

Directions: From Bac Giang City, follow Highway 31 for about 80 km, then at the intersection in Son Dong town, turn left and continue for another 10 km to reach your destination.

From Khe Ro, tourists can cross the Ha My pass on National Highway 279 for about 60 km to reach Ha Long Bay.

Ba Be Lake

This is a famous tourist attraction in Bac Kan province, located 300 km from Hanoi and 50 km from Bac Kan city. Visitors to Ba Be Lake can enjoy the natural beauty and experience the vast, expansive scenery by dugout canoe. The boat tour costs 150,000 VND per person.

Directions: Ba Be Lake is approximately 230 km from Hanoi. By bus, you can catch a bus at My Dinh or Gia Lam bus station, ask for a bus to Cho Ra, and from there take a motorbike taxi to Ba Be Lake.

With its picturesque and charming scenery, Ba Be Lake is likened to a mysterious green gem nestled amidst the mountains and forests of Northeast Vietnam.

Lac Village

Located in the mountainous district of Mai Chau, Hoa Binh province, Lac Village is about 140 km from Hanoi and is an ideal destination for groups of friends to go on a picnic and explore the lifestyle of the Thai people in the highlands. It's also a gift from the mountains and forests to those who love peace and tranquility, with its expansive, lush green landscapes.

You can rent bicycles to visit several places such as Pom Coong village, Van village, Nhot village, Chieu cave, Mo Luong cave... A small note: you will only find grilled skewers as a snack in Lac village. If you want to eat vermicelli or pho, you have to go to the town, which is more than a kilometer away. It's advisable to order meals at your guesthouse so they can prepare them in advance.

Route: Hanoi - Xuan Mai - Luong Son - Hoa Binh - Muong Khen - Mai Chau (via National Highway 6).

Renting a traditional costume for a stroll around town is a very enjoyable experience. For just 10,000 - 15,000 VND per rental, you can transform yourself into a girl or boy from an ethnic minority group.

Bai Lu, Nghe An

If you want to go to the beach this time of year, Bai Lu beach in Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, is an ideal choice for families with young children, offering fresh and cool natural air. Nearby attractions include Lu Mountain peak, the Iron Canal, and Cuong Temple. You can call ahead to book hotel rooms at Bai Lu resorts. Along the Dien Chau coastline, about 2 km away, there are several beachfront restaurants serving quality food at affordable prices.

Directions: Bai Lu is about 270 km from Hanoi. The easiest way is to buy a train ticket to Vinh station, then travel north along National Highway 1A for about 20 km to reach Bai Lu.
