Quynh Luu: Summary of the Ornamental Plants Association's activities in 2014

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 13th, the Ornamental Plants Association of Quynh Luu district held a conference to summarize the association's work in 2014, implement tasks for 2015, and award commemorative medals for contributions to the Vietnamese ornamental plants industry. Mr. Nguyen Tat Dien, Chairman of the Provincial Ornamental Plants Association, was in attendance.

In 2014, the Quỳnh Lưu District Ornamental Plant Association experienced significant growth in both quantity and quality. Association activities became more organized and diverse, creating a healthy and beneficial environment for members. Despite the decline in ornamental plant prices, the people of Quỳnh Lưu continued to cultivate and preserve the cultural beauty of ornamental plants. The percentage of people engaged in ornamental plant cultivation reached 75-80%. Many commune associations have members maintaining gardens with 50-100 pots of high artistic value, such as Cầu Giát, Quỳnh Hồng, Quỳnh Thạch, and Quỳnh Hậu. Over the past year, the association also continued to encourage agencies, schools, and commune stations to plant trees for environmental improvement, achieving 100% participation. It organized and participated in numerous competitions and exhibitions at the local and district levels. Furthermore, the association proactively organized visits for members to learn from the experiences of other units in ornamental plant cultivation, and conducted training to improve flower cultivation techniques for over 70 members.

In 2015, the Ornamental Plants Association of Quynh Luu District continued to improve and enhance the quality of its branch activities. It continued to organize short-term training courses to improve the skills of its grassroots members; built a movement for cultivating ornamental plants, developed more farms and gardens, and developed ornamental plants into a highly effective ecological economic sector.

For their achievements, 35 members were awarded commemorative medals for their contributions to the development of ornamental plants in Vietnam. Three collectives and five individuals received commendations from the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District, and four individuals received commendations from the District Association.
