(Baonghean.vn) - Few would have expected that in Hoa Binh town, Tuong Duong mountainous district, there would be a large lotus lake with large lotus plants and leaves that delight visitors.
This is the lotus pond of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Bac's family in Hoa Nam Hamlet, Hoa Binh Town, which they have been cultivating for nearly three years. The tall lotus plants, with their large, beautiful buds, stems, and leaves, cover almost one hectare. Mr. Bac recounts that initially, his family only planted three plants in a corner of the pond, but in just three years, they have spread throughout the entire pond. Currently, his family utilizes the lotus flowers, seed pods, and leaves for sale. Lotus flowers are sold at the beginning and end of the lunar month. Each seed pod sells for 5000 VND. The lotus leaves are also sold to people for medicinal purposes.
Currently, residents of Hoa Binh town, as well as people in other localities in the western districts of Nghe An province, are struggling with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. This is a place where people in the town and surrounding areas come to admire the scenery and cool off during hot days.
