Quynh Luu, Dien Chau: Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 21, the Quynh Luu District Youth Union organized the 17th Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress, term 2015 - 2020.

Overview of the congress

Promoting the precious traditions of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, over the past 5 years, the work of the team and the youth movement in Quynh Luu district have had a strong change. Activities of traditional education, fostering ideals, ethics, and lifestyle have been widely deployed and diversified in form.

Every year, there are more than 500 written exams on historical topics, studying the country and its people. Typically, in the 2013-2014 school year, there were more than 500 entries on the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory and the “Pride of Vietnam” contest.

At the same time, the teams paid attention to organizing and contributing to support 507 poor students and students in difficult circumstances to return to school; donated 485,000 sets of clothes to poor students with a total donation of up to 600 million VND. Gave more than 6,530 gifts to children in difficult circumstances and policy families, implemented small-scale planning movements reaching 1.2 billion VND. The teams also donated 205 flocks of red-scarf chickens, worth 123 million VND.

In addition, the district has more than 500 learning clubs and 100 hobby clubs that operate effectively, improving the quality of education and comprehensively developing the physical and intellectual abilities of students. Every year, in the district-wide IOE competition, more than 200 students win prizes at the provincial and national levels. Over the past 5 years, more than 1,000 cadres have been trained in team work.

Cultural performance to welcome the congress

At the congress, 135 children were awarded the title of Uncle Ho's good children by the Quynh Luu district Youth Union.

Also at the congress, the district's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs awarded 20 gifts to 20 students with especially difficult circumstances who overcame difficulties to achieve high academic achievements, each gift worth 200,000 VND.

The Chairman of the Youth Union and the representative of the district education department awarded the title of Uncle Ho's good children to the children.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district awarded certificates of merit to 10 teachers who are team leaders and 10 team leaders with outstanding achievements in team work and youth movements in the period 2010 - 2015./.

* On the morning of April 21, the Dien Chau District Youth Union organized the 4th Congress of Uncle Ho's Good Children in 2015. Attending were 85 outstanding members representing nearly 6,400 teenagers and children in the whole district.

In the period of 2010 - 2015, the program of work of the Young Pioneers and the youth movement has been implemented in many diverse forms, creating a vibrant emulation movement. There have been 4,000 working days to help families with revolutionary contributions and single-parent families; 250 silk shirts were given to heroic Vietnamese mothers; 265 gifts were given to policy families; the programs "Lighting up the dreams of Vietnamese youth" and "Helping you overcome difficulties" were effectively implemented...

The whole district has 783 excellent students at the provincial level, 20 excellent students at the national level; participating in the science innovation contest, there were 2 first prizes, 1 second prize at the provincial level and 2 third prizes at the national level.

At the Congress, 85 children were awarded certificates of merit for being Uncle Ho's Good Children by the Dien Chau District Youth Union, including 20 outstanding children in the children's movement following Uncle Ho's teachings.
