Yen Thanh: Receiving the Provincial-level Historical Monument Certificate for the Holy Mother Temple

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 21st, Ma Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) solemnly held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level historical relic designation for the Holy Mother Temple.

The Temple of the Holy Mother, located in Yen Ma village, Ma Thanh commune, was built during the Le Dynasty, in the Vinh Huu era (1735-1740) under King Le Y Tong, to worship the Holy Mother Lieu Hanh and her two attendant goddesses, Que Hoa and Thuy Hoa, who protected the country and sheltered the people. The temple was recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic by the Provincial People's Committee on December 30, 2014.

Ms. Hoang Thi Quynh Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presented the certificate recognizing Ma Thanh commune as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.

Saint Mother Lieu Hanh is a goddess worshipped throughout most regions of Vietnam. Legends circulating in folklore are recorded in 25 books about her. According to legend, she is a principal deity in the temples of the Three Realms and Four Realms of Vietnam and one of the four immortals in the Vietnamese pantheon.

This is an ancient and unique architectural structure, located in a rural area with a rich history and culture. Every year, the temple hosts many important ceremonies and a memorial service on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month, attracting a large number of local people and visitors from all over to pray for peace and blessings.
