Rescuers found at least three bodies in the mud and took 38 injured people to hospital, including four seriously injured, Nugroho said. 370 residents were evacuated to temporary shelters.

Hundreds of rescue workers, including police, soldiers and residents, are digging through the rubble with their bare hands, picks and shovels, searching for the 107 people still missing. Local authorities later mobilized tractors and bulldozers to assist.
