A Vietnamese worker in Malaysia died in a drunken brawl.

Malaysian media reported on June 21 that a young Vietnamese man died in a fight with a group of fellow countrymen after drinking alcohol at a house in the Sembilang area, Seberang Jaya town, Penang state.

The victim, Nguyen Huu Giap, 25, a factory worker on Jelawat Road, was stabbed in the left chest and died at Hospital Seberang Jaya (HSJ), a police spokesman said.

He confirmed that the incident occurred at 11:50 p.m. on June 20.

The victim was then taken to HSJ Hospital and died an hour later.

At the house, police seized a 29cm long vegetable knife, believed to be evidence, and detained 20 Vietnamese workers, including 5 women, aged 20-30, for investigation.

All of these people work in factories in the Perai industrial area.

Regarding the above incident, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia has sent a diplomatic note and contacted Malaysian authorities to investigate the incident./.
