Free medical examinations and medication provided to over 400 beneficiaries of social welfare policies.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 13th, in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Phuoc Dien Charity Association (Ben Tre province), in coordination with Gia Dinh People's Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) and Nghe An Oncology Hospital, organized free medical examinations and dispensed free medicine to over 400 beneficiaries from policy beneficiary families, poor households, and near-poor households in three communes: Kim Lien, Hung Tien, and Xuan Lam.

The people received examinations and advice from medical staff on disease prevention, especially regarding internal medicine conditions such as: blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, bone and joint problems, stomach problems, skin diseases, eye diseases, abdominal ultrasound, etc. During the examinations, several cardiovascular and eye diseases were detected, and the medical staff guided the people to seek treatment at higher-level facilities for timely care.

After the examination, each patient received free medication and a gift worth a total of 165,000 VND per person. The total cost of this free examination and medication distribution, nearly 70 million VND, was funded by sponsors.

Earlier, on the afternoon of June 12th, the team organized free medical examinations and provided free medicine to 375 beneficiaries of social policies in Yen Son commune, Do Luong district.

This is a meaningful activity aimed at helping people improve their knowledge of self-prevention of diseases, while also contributing to alleviating the difficulties related to illness so that they can live stable lives.
