Helicopter crashes in the Philippines, eight casualties.

On the afternoon of July 5th, a helicopter crashed in a mountainous area of ​​Batangas province in northern the Philippines, killing two people and injuring six others.

According to CNN, citing police in Batangas province, the helicopter crashed in Barangay Pinagkaisahan, near Mount Maculot in Cuenca, in the province. The helicopter was en route from Puerto Galera to Manila when the crash occurred.

The Philippine Civil Aviation Authority said the helicopter was operated by Malate Tourism Development Company.

The two fatalities were pilot Felicisimo Taborlupa and Archimedes “Archie” King, the founder and owner of the Victoria Court hotel chain. Those injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by Philippine authorities.
