Helicopter crash in Philippines, 8 casualties

On the afternoon of July 5, a helicopter crashed in a mountainous area of ​​Batangas province in the northern Philippines, killing two people and injuring six others.

According to CNN news agency citing Batangas provincial police, the helicopter crashed in Barangay Pinagkaisahan, near Mount Maculot in Cuenca in the province. The helicopter crashed while on a journey from Puerto Galera to Manila.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said the helicopter was operated by the Malate Tourism Development Corporation.

The two people killed were the pilot, Felicisimo Taborlupa, and Archimedes “Archie” King, founder and owner of the Victoria Court hotel chain. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is currently being investigated by Philippine authorities.
