Russian Theater brings ballet masterpiece "Swan Lake" to Hanoi
More than 100 ballet artists from the Talarium Et Lux Theater from Russia will present to Hanoi audiences the ballet masterpiece “Swan Lake” for one night only on August 1.
On the evening of August 1, at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), for the first time, a large group of artists from the Russian Ballet Theatre Talarium Et Lux will present to the audience of the Capital the ballet masterpiece "Swan Lake" under the artistic direction of world ballet legend Mikhail Leonidovich Lavrovsky.

“Swan Lake” (Лебединое Озеро, Lebedinoye Ozero) is ballet number 20 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed around 1875-1876. The play is based on Russian fairy tales as well as an ancient German legend, telling the story of Odette, a princess enchanted by a spell and transformed into a swan. The ballet was first performed on March 4, 1877, at the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow under the name “Swan Lake”. To this day, “Swan Lake” is one of the most famous classic ballets, performed in many different versions.
In 2012, the Russian Ballet Theatre's ballet "Swan Lake" made a big splash when it premiered in Moscow, and then continued to achieve further success when it performed in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, the United States, Australia and other countries.

The play “Swan Lake” will be the first performance that perfectly combines the classic play with modern performance technology. “Swan Lake” performed in Vietnam will feature the participation of famous Russian artists, Elisaveta Sergeevna Nebesnaya (E. Nebesnaya) – the white swan, Sergey Mirnov (S. Mirnov) – Prince Sigfried, and many excellent dancers from the Talarium Et Lux Theater.
Under the artistic direction of world ballet legend Mikhail Leondovich Lavrovsky and the Talarium Et Lux ballet troupe, this will be the first time Vietnamese audiences will be able to enjoy the classic ballet performance “Swan Lake” in a 3D world with vivid images following each graceful dance of the dancers.
The show uses the most modern technology by the visual engineering team that participated in staging the 3D (multimedia) scene of the Sochi Winter Olympics, Russia.
“We wanted to bring the fairy tale to life by using 3D graphics in classical performances. Even audiences who have never seen ballet will love it,” said Sergey Baturin, Deputy Director of the Russian Ballet Theatre Talarium et lux.
