Vietnam has always attached great importance to strengthening and developing its comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.
During his visit to Yunnan, to attend the opening ceremony of the 3rd China-South Asia Expo and the 23rd Kunming Expo held in Yunnan (China), on the afternoon of June 12, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai met with Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao and received the Governor of Yunnan Province, Chen Hao.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai affirmed that, based on the consistent foreign policy of peace, independence, self-reliance, multilateralism, and diversification, Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.
The Deputy Prime Minister outlined several major measures to promote Vietnam-China relations in the coming period, such as continuing to maintain visits and contacts between high-level leaders of the two Parties and States; effectively implementing high-level agreements and common understandings; promoting substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields, especially economy, trade, and investment; expanding exchanges and cooperation between localities, especially border localities of the two countries, as well as people-to-people exchanges.
Regarding the South China Sea issue, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai emphasized that both sides need to adhere to the agreements and common understandings of the high-level leaders of the two Parties and two countries on effectively managing disagreements at sea, refraining from actions that complicate or expand disputes, and jointly maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea; seriously and fully implement the "Agreement on the Basic Principles Guiding the Resolution of the Maritime Issues between Vietnam and China" and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC); and promptly work with ASEAN countries to complete the development of the Code of Conduct for Parties in the South China Sea (COC); and appropriately handle disputes through peaceful means in accordance with international law.

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao welcomed Vice Premier Huang Zhonghai's visit to Yunnan, his participation in the China-South Asia Expo, and the Kunming Expo.
Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao highly appreciated the positive progress in bilateral relations in recent times; affirmed that the Chinese Party and Government always attach great importance to friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam; and stated that, in the context of the two countries celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, both sides should actively promote the continued healthy development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam, strengthen substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation, and appropriately resolve disagreements between the two countries, for the practical benefit of both countries and their peoples.

During the meeting with Yunnan Governor Chen Hao, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai congratulated Yunnan province on its socio-economic achievements in recent years; expressed pleasure at the new progress in cooperative relations between Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities with Yunnan province; and affirmed that the Vietnamese Government attaches importance to promoting cooperation between Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities with Yunnan province.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that both sides continue to effectively implement mechanisms for friendly exchanges and cooperation, contributing to promoting the stable and sustainable development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.
