Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.

During his visit to Yunnan, attending the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd China-South Asia Fair and the 23rd Kunming Fair held in Yunnan (China), on the afternoon of June 12, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai met with Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao and received Yunnan Province Governor Chen Hao.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai affirmed that on the basis of persistently pursuing a foreign policy of peace, independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification, Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.

The Deputy Prime Minister outlined a number of major measures to promote Vietnam-China relations in the coming time, such as continuing to maintain visits and contacts between high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and States; effectively implementing high-level agreements and common perceptions, promoting mutually beneficial substantive cooperation in all fields, especially economics, trade and investment; expanding exchanges and cooperation between localities, especially border localities of the two countries as well as people-to-people exchange activities.

Regarding the East Sea issue, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai emphasized that the two sides need to comply with the agreements and common perceptions of the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries on controlling disagreements at sea well, not taking actions that complicate or expand disputes, together maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea; seriously and fully implementing the "Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of maritime issues between Vietnam and China" and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), soon completing with ASEAN countries the construction of the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC); properly handling disputes by peaceful means, in accordance with international law.

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Huang Zhonghai to visit Yunnan and attend the China-South Asia Expo and the Kunming Expo.

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao highly appreciated the positive developments in the bilateral relationship in recent times; affirmed that the Chinese Party and Government always attach importance to the neighborly friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam; said that, in the context of the two countries celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two sides need to actively promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam to continue to develop healthily, strengthen substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation, and satisfactorily resolve disagreements between the two countries, for the practical interests of the two countries and their peoples.

At the reception for Yunnan Governor Tran Hao, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai congratulated Yunnan province on its recent socio-economic achievements; expressed his delight at the new developments in the cooperative relationship between Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities with Yunnan province; and affirmed that the Vietnamese Government attaches importance to promoting cooperation between Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities with Yunnan province.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the two sides continue to effectively implement friendly exchange and cooperation mechanisms, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to develop stably and sustainably./.
