Tao Son Commune (Anh Son): Creating a new breakthrough in production
(Baonghean) - Located on the left bank of Lam River in Anh Son district, Tao Son commune has over 2,000 hectares of natural land, over 1,300 households with over 4,900 people. Over the past years, especially in 2014, thanks to great efforts in leadership, management and internal solidarity, the Party Committee, government and all the people of the commune have achieved many positive results.
...Before 2003, agricultural land in Tao Son commune was fragmented and dispersed with each household having 9-11 plots, making it very difficult to direct production development and change the structure of seasonal crops. With dynamism and many practical policies, the work of mobilizing people to change the structure of crops according to Directive 08 of the Provincial Party Committee in Tao Son commune has been basically implemented, each farmer household has 1-2 plots/area. Complete internal traffic and irrigation, convenient for mechanization in production; thanks to that, in 2014, the commune effectively implemented 60 hectares of model rice fields, 62 hectares of concentrated green squash, increased the area of third crop crops such as corn and other high-value vegetables, with an average income of 200-250 million VND/ha/year. The commune issued a project to build farms and family farms in the 2015 - 2020 period and has effectively built 6 models... By 2014, the total cultivated area of the commune reached 810 hectares, equal to 102% of the plan; economic growth rate reached 11.7%; production value increased by an average of 6.8% per year; total value of goods income reached 83 billion VND, reaching 101% of the plan; average income per capita reached 24.8 million VND/year, an increase of over 11 million VND/year compared to 2011.

The construction of new rural infrastructure has made many improvements. In 2014, the whole commune mobilized a total capital investment of over 3.6 billion VND for basic construction; mobilized people to clear the land for 10.5 km of rural roads, currently over 11.5 km have been completed to meet standards; built 260m of intra-field canals, 4 working rooms for the committees; invested in upgrading the commune's broadcasting system; installed 320 rows of intra-field traffic culverts. The commune mobilized people to maintain and repair rural roads and fill in inter-field traffic aggregates with a total value of over 400 million VND.

Thanks to the convenient traffic network planning, the commune has the conditions to develop dozens of factories, shops, brick and tile production facilities, civil carpentry, sawing, welding, forging, trading agricultural products, groceries... thanks to which the total income from industry and handicrafts reaches 8.4 billion VND.
The cultural, social and educational fields have achieved many results: Implementing the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life, the rate of cultural families in 2014 reached 85%; the quality of teaching and learning at all levels has been increasingly improved, in the 2013-2014 school year there were 113 excellent students of the district, 35 excellent teachers of the district, 1 excellent teacher of the province, 22 students passed the entrance exam to universities and colleges. In 2014, the poverty rate of the commune was 8.9%. The field of national defense and security has been well completed, recognized as a unit determined to win. To achieve these results, the Party Committee and the commune government have drawn many approaches that can be considered valuable experiences in leadership and management; that is, focusing on improving propaganda work, implementing well the grassroots democracy regulations with the motto "People know, people discuss, people implement". The Party cell must be a solid spiritual support for the people, the families of cadres and party members must be exemplary in leading movements, especially on the agricultural production front. The commune considers economic development leadership as a central task, Party building as a key task. In implementing the transformation, it is necessary to be bold and dare to invest in crops suitable to the local soil conditions to promote and expand. Organize and effectively implement the emulation movement to develop household economy; emulate land conversion and land donation for new rural construction.
In recognition of the achievements, from 2011 to present, for many consecutive years, the Party Committee, government and all the people of Tao Son commune have been recognized as a clean and strong unit, the People's Committee of the commune was awarded the title of "Advanced Labor Collective" by the Chairman of the District People's Committee; in 2013 - 2014, the commune received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in promoting land consolidation and large-scale production accumulation. National defense and security have maintained the title of decisive victory for many years, dozens of individuals have received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. In particular, in 2014, the Party Committee, government and people of Tao Son commune were honored to receive the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
To maintain pride and promote the achievements, in the coming time, the Party Committee, government and people of Tao Son commune will continue to promote the transformation of seasonal crop structure, build a model of high-income crop and livestock production, and successfully direct the implementation of the project to develop comprehensive farm and family economy in the form of combined production and livestock breeding. The main goal is to create a new breakthrough in production to contribute to increasing people's income. Along with that, constantly reforming administration, innovating management work, completing well the emulation targets and assigned tasks, maintaining political and social order and safety...
