(Baonghean) - On July 17, 2015, Baonghean newspaper published an article titled "Coal yard causes pollution at Cua Corn residential, tourism and service project," reflecting that: Despite the local government's decision to reclaim the land, requiring the business owner to hand over the site and cease coal stockpiling activities, the coal stockpiling yard (opposite the National Historical Monument of Cua Corn Temple, in Quynh Di commune) continues to operate extensively, causing environmental pollution and affecting many households and the operation of the Cua Corn residential, tourism and service project.

On July 23, 2015, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Nghe An province issued Official Letter No. 3358/STNMT-BVMT requesting the People's Committee of Hoang Mai town to direct relevant departments and agencies to investigate and verify the aforementioned complaints and take timely remedial measures. The results of the handling should be reported to the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Department of Information and Communications before August 1, 2015.
