Former Navy SEALs veteran visits his old unit.
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 4th, 46 veterans of the 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade in the Nghe Tinh region visited their former unit stationed in Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city.
Welcoming the delegation were Colonel Doan Van Manh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Brigade 126; and Major General Mai Nang, Hero of the Armed Forces and former Commander of the 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade.

The 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade was a highly elite naval special forces unit of the Vietnam People's Navy, having participated in combat in the Quang Tri battlefield from 1966 to 1973. Throughout those seven years, the Brigade bravely and strategically organized over 300 battles, inflicting complete damage on 400 enemy ships.
In 1975, 107 officers and soldiers led by Major General Mai Năng successfully liberated many islands in the Truong Sa archipelago. For their exceptionally outstanding achievements, the unit was twice awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State.

During the meeting and exchange with veterans, officers and soldiers of Brigade 126, Command expressed their determination to continue upholding traditions, building the unit into an increasingly strong force, meeting the requirements of national construction and defense in the new era; always maintaining vigilance, ready to counter all schemes of hostile forces, and firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands.
