Former Navy commando visits old unit

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 4, 46 veterans of the 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade in Nghe Tinh region visited their old unit stationed in Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city.

Welcoming the delegation were Colonel Doan Van Manh, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Brigade 126; Major General, Hero of the Armed Forces Mai Nang, former Brigade Commander of Naval Special Forces Brigade 126.

The delegation of veterans of the 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade in Nghe Tinh region were welcomed by officers and soldiers when they returned to visit their old unit.

The 126th Naval Special Forces Brigade is an elite special water force of the Vietnam People's Navy, which fought on the Quang Tri battlefield from 1966 to 1973. During the 7 years, the Brigade bravely and intelligently organized more than 300 battles, causing total damage to 400 enemy ships.

In 1975, 107 officers and soldiers led by Major General Mai Nang participated in the successful liberation of many islands in Truong Sa. With its outstanding achievements, the unit was twice awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State.

The veterans visited the Brigade's modern equipment and weapons.

During the visit to their old unit, the veterans met and talked with officers and soldiers; together they reviewed the heroic and brave fighting tradition of the unit.
