(Baonghean.vn) - The administrative control team of Tam Quang Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) recently discovered and seized numerous illegal weapons hidden by two individuals inside bags of dried bamboo shoots.

Captain Nguyen Hong Duc, Deputy Commander of Tam Quang Border Guard Station in Tuong Duong district, said: At 10:00 AM on November 2nd, after receiving a tip from the public, the unit conducted checks and controls on people and vehicles entering and leaving the border area. During the inspection, they discovered Kha Van Thuan (born in 1963) and his son Kha Van Thang (born in 1984), residing in Khe Thoi village, Lang Khe commune (Con Cuong district), carrying numerous homemade weapons and illegal fishing tools hidden in bags of dried bamboo shoots.

The seized items were confiscated by the Tam Quang border guard station.

The seized items included one muzzle-loading gun barrel, 14 detonators, 21 lead pellets used to make homemade ammunition, and one electric shock device hidden in a bag of dried bamboo shoots. During questioning, Mr. Kha Van Thuan confessed to transporting the weapons for an acquaintance. The Tam Quang Border Guard Post proceeded to draw up a seizure report and expelled Mr. Thuan and his son from the area.
