Illegal weapons mixed in dried bamboo shoots

(Baonghean.vn) - The administrative control team of Tam Quang Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) has just discovered and seized many illegal weapons hidden in bags of dried bamboo shoots by two subjects.

Captain Nguyen Hong Duc, Deputy Chief of Tam Quang Border Guard Station in Tuong Duong District, said: At 10:00 a.m. on November 2, after receiving information from the public, the unit organized an inspection and control of people and vehicles entering and leaving the border area. Thereby, they discovered that Mr. Kha Van Thuan (born in 1963) and his son Kha Van Thang (born in 1984), residing in Khe Thoi village, Lang Khe commune (Con Cuong district), were carrying many homemade weapons and illegal fishing tools hidden in bags of dried bamboo shoots.

The seized evidence included a flintlock gun barrel, 14 explosives, 21 lead pellets used to make homemade bullets, and an electric shocker hidden in a bag of dried bamboo shoots. During the investigation, Mr. Kha Van Thuan confessed that he had transported the above weapons for an acquaintance. Tam Quang Border Guard Station proceeded to make a record of the seizure of the evidence and expelled Mr. Thuan and his son from the area.
