Anh Son: Highest growth rate in 5 years

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 29, the Anh Son District People's Council opened its 13th session of the 17th term.

In 2015, thanks to the focused leadership and guidance of the district and the efforts of the entire population, the implementation of the socio-economic plan in Anh Son still achieved relatively comprehensive results in all fields.

The economic growth rate reached 8.82%, the highest rate in the 5-year period from 2011-2015. Total production value is estimated at 3,333 billion VND, reaching 108.4% of the plan and increasing by 15.4% compared to the same period last year.

The economic structure shifted in the right direction, reducing the proportion of agriculture and increasing the proportion of industry, construction, and services; budget revenue met and exceeded planned targets. Several economic models yielded high efficiency, such as high-density corn cultivation in Tuong Son; green pumpkin cultivation in Cam Son; and export-oriented chili pepper cultivation in Hoa Son… Industry experienced strong growth this year due to the accelerated construction progress of many large investment projects in the area, such as the Song Lam 2 Cement Plant; the clean charcoal plant; and the Hoa Son cassava starch processing plant…

Overview of the session.

The national target program for building new rural areas continues to be promoted, with active participation from the people. Currently, Anh Son district has two communes, Hung Son and Cam Son, recognized as achieving new rural area standards. The socio-cultural sector has seen many positive changes; the quality of education at all levels is constantly improving; and population and family planning work is being implemented effectively.

Healthcare services were well-cared for, preventing outbreaks of disease in the area; social policies, job creation, poverty reduction, and social security continued to show many positive changes.

The session will approve draft resolutions for 2016 on socio-economic development tasks, the allocation of state budget revenue and expenditure estimates, the district People's Council's monitoring program, the program for issuing resolutions, and the dismissal and election of additional positions in the district People's Committee under the authority of the 17th term of the district People's Council.
