Nghe An's forestry product exports reached 150 million USD.

(Baonghean.vn) - Over the past five years, Nghe An province has mobilized 1,551.903 billion VND to support forestry activities and development. 77,600 hectares of concentrated forest have been newly planted, bringing export revenue to nearly 150 million USD.

On the morning of November 27th, the Forestry Sub-Department of the Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a seminar to commemorate the 53rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Forestry ngành (November 28, 1959 - November 28, 2015).

Attending the seminar were Comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and officials from the forestry sector of Nghe An province from various periods.

During the period of 2011-2015, forestry activities made a significant impact and contributed importantly to socio-economic development in the province. Most notably, the review of the planning for the three types of forests was completed, aiming to stabilize the area of ​​special-use forests, reduce the area of ​​protection forests, and increase the area of ​​production forests. Forest care and protection activities were also strengthened.

Over the past five years, the province has mobilized 1,551.903 billion VND to support forestry activities and development. 77,600 hectares of concentrated forest have been newly planted, bringing export revenue to nearly 150 million USD, and forest cover reaching 55%, a 2% increase compared to 2011. The supply of seedlings has always been a priority; currently, the province has 35 seedling production gardens with a capacity of 30 million seedlings per year.
