Nghe An forestry product exports reach 150 million USD

(Baonghean.vn) - In the past 5 years, Nghe An has mobilized 1,551.903 billion VND for forestry activities and development. Planting 77,600 hectares of concentrated forests, bringing export turnover to nearly 150 million USD.

On the morning of November 27, the Forestry Sub-Department, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An organized a seminar to celebrate the 53rd Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam Forestry Sector (November 28, 1959 - November 28, 2015).

In the period of 2011-2015, forestry activities have made an impression, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the province. Most notably, the review of the planning of 3 types of forests has been completed in the direction of stabilizing the area of ​​special-use forests, reducing the area of ​​protective forests, and increasing the area of ​​production forests. Forest care and protection activities have been enhanced.

In the past 5 years, the province has mobilized 1,551.903 billion VND to serve the forestry activities and development. Planting 77,600 hectares of concentrated forests, bringing export turnover to nearly 150 million USD, forest coverage reaching 55%, up 2% compared to 2011. Seed supply has always been focused on, currently the province has 35 seedling production gardens, with a capacity of 30 million trees/year.
