Disseminate traffic safety laws to union officials in the transport sector

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 21, the Transport Industry Trade Union coordinated with the Provincial Department of Transport to organize a training course to disseminate traffic safety laws and implement traffic culture for more than 150 Transport Industry Trade Union officials in Nghe An region.

Attending the conference were comrades: Pham Chi Dan, Vice Chairman of the Transport Industry Trade Union, Nguyen Hong Ky, Provincial Party Committee Member, Director of the Department of Transport; Nguyen Tu Phuong, Provincial Party Committee Member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation.

More than 150 officials and union members of the Transport sector in the province attended the training course.

In his opening speech, comrade Nguyen Hong Ky, Director of the Provincial Department of Transport, said that in response to the movement to build a traffic culture, the Department's officers and employees are always determined to carry out assigned tasks to build an increasingly synchronous traffic infrastructure system.

In the first 9 months of the year, the whole province had 189 traffic accidents, killing 131 people and injuring 146. Compared to the same period in 2014, there were 21 fewer accidents, 14 fewer deaths, and 15 fewer injuries. Although all three criteria have decreased, the traffic accident situation is still very complicated. Therefore, promoting the dissemination of traffic safety laws is very necessary and urgent.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Ky, Director of the Department of Transport, suggested that each union official and member of the industry must be a propagandist of traffic safety laws.

Emphasizing the role of propaganda work to raise awareness of traffic safety laws, he suggested that through the training course, each cadre, union member, and employee must be a propagandist of traffic safety laws in the agency, family, and society.

Mr. Pham Chi Dan, Vice President of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union, said that since the beginning of the year, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union has proposed many solutions to direct Trade Unions at all levels in the industry and coordinate with the Labor Federations of provinces and cities across the country to promote propaganda and mobilize workers to be exemplary in complying with traffic safety laws and traffic culture.

Comrade Pham Chi Dan, Vice Chairman of the Transport Industry Union, emphasized the role of traffic safety law propaganda in the industry union.

At the training session, employees watched a number of skits performed by the Vietnam Transport Trade Union with the content of propagating traffic culture laws; introducing the Party and State's policies and guidelines on measures to reduce traffic accidents, implement traffic culture... on that basis, key officials of the Trade Union at all levels disseminated to union members at their grassroots level.
