Priority candidates for recruitment into the People's Police Force

DecreeGovernment Decree No. 103/2015/ND-CPRegulations detailing and implementing certain provisions of the Law on the People's Police,The regulations clearly define the selection criteria and priority groups for recruitment into the People's Police.

Accordingly, citizens selected to join the People's Public Security Force must meet the following standards: 1- Be a citizen of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; 2- Meet the political standards of officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security Force; possess good moral character and health; and voluntarily serve in the People's Public Security Force under a professional or recruitment system; 3- Possess professional and technical skills, expertise, and aptitude suitable for police work.

Priority will be given to recruiting people from ethnic minorities.

Regarding the priority in selecting students for the People's Public Security Force, the Decree clearly stipulates that the People's Public Security Force shall prioritize the selection of outstanding students graduating from higher education institutions and vocational education institutions who meet the standards for training and recruitment into the People's Public Security Force.

In addition, to meet the needs of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety, and combating crime in strategic areas, the Ministry of Public Security annually prioritizes the recruitment of ethnic minority citizens or other citizens with at least 10 consecutive years of residence in mountainous, highland, remote, border, and island areas who possess suitable professional qualifications into the People's Public Security Force.

In addition, every year, the Ministry of Public Security selects and sends officers, non-commissioned officers, and trainees from the People's Public Security academies and schools to non-People's Public Security training institutions in Vietnam and abroad to receive training in fields and professions relevant to police work.
