(Baonghean.vn) – On November 18, according to the latest propaganda magazine that IS released on the Internet, extremist jihadists executed two hostages - one Chinese and one Norwegian - after two months of demanding ransom.

In Dabiq magazine No. 12, IS published photos of the bodies of two hostages with bloody faces along with large yellow letters with the content "Executed after being abandoned by infidel nations and organizations".

Under the headline “The Fate of the Two Prisoners,” they published a photo of two blindfolded men with bloodied faces. It appeared that the two men had been shot dead. On September 10, IS first announced the capture of the two hostages, but did not specify where they were taken.

According to information up to now, the identities of the 2 hostages executed are:

Ole Johan Grimsgaard Ofstad, 48, who is affiliated with the Trondheim University of Science and Technology (northern Norway), announced on Facebook that he was going to Idlib (northern Syria). However, it is unclear why Ofstad decided to go to this area.

The Chinese hostage executed by IS has been identified as Mr. Phan Kinh Huy, a 50-year-old expert.

Norway has confirmed the kidnapping of Ole Johan Grimsgaard Ofstad, one of its citizens, shortly after he arrived in Syria in late January 2015. In response to IS’s demands for ransom, the Norwegian government has ruled out this possibility.

The Chinese government also admitted that one of its citizens may have fallen into the hands of IS.
