(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the Provincial People's Committee's Decisions on inspecting and handling violations in the exploitation, transportation and gathering of sand and gravel on the Lam River, since the end of November 2015, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team chaired by the Provincial Police has cleared sand and gravel trading yards at the foot of Yen Xuan Bridge.
At the foot of the Yen Xuan railway bridge, there are 4 sand and gravel trading yards. Complying with the inspection team’s request, by December 31, 2015, the yard owners had basically completed the movement of sand and gravel, machinery, cranes, etc. |
At the anti-erosion embankment, there are no more sand boats anchored. |
A bridge tower is removed from the dock area. |
Also on December 31, the Inspection Team conducted a final inspection and handed over the cleared site to the Hung Xuan Commune (Hung Nguyen) authorities for management. Because the power line in Hung Xuan Commune was suddenly cut off, at some points far from the foot of the bridge, some sand crane towers were still being dismantled and had not been moved. |
The owner of the undismantled crane tower, Ms. Le Thi Hung (residing in Hamlet 9, Hung Xuan Commune), promised the inspection team that she would return the site. |
The inspection team inspected a concrete platform where a crane used to be placed to carry sand, now being dismantled by the sand dock owner. |
After inspecting the scene, the inspection team made a record of handing over the site to the Hung Xuan commune government for management. |
Complying with the clearance, the owner of Hang Hai private construction materials enterprise, Mr. Tran Van Hoi (standing in the middle), has concerns because he has not been given a new business location. According to Lieutenant Colonel Chu Minh Tien - Deputy Head of the Environmental Police Department, in the coming time, relevant agencies will consider the wishes of the enterprises and choose suitable locations for the enterprises to ensure production and business. |
On Lam River on December 31, 2015, there were many ships carrying sand back to Ha Tinh province. |
Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporters, Lieutenant Colonel Chu Minh Tien said that after a comprehensive inspection of the Lam River, violations in sand and gravel exploitation and trading have significantly decreased. However, the management of sand and gravel transportation on the river still has many issues that need to be addressed by all levels and sectors. |
