Nghe An: Striving for 100% of communes, wards, and towns to have cultural, information, and sports facilities.

(Baonghean.vn) – On the afternoon of January 7th, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to hear and give opinions on the draft plan for implementing Resolution No. 33/NQ-TW on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people, meeting the requirements of sustainable national development.

Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department of Justice, the Department of Education, Nghe An Newspaper, etc.

The meeting was of great importance, aiming to find practical solutions that are appropriate to the situation and actual conditions of the locality, departments, agencies, and organizations in the implementation and execution, creating a combined and synchronized strength, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution No. 33/NQ-TW on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people, meeting the requirements of sustainable national development.

At the meeting, representatives from various departments and agencies contributed many ideas, reflecting the practical situation of each sector and field.

Comrade Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, suggested that, in order for the action plan to implement Resolution No. 33/NQ-TW to be relevant to reality, it needs to firmly adhere to specific goals and tasks.

The meeting focused on the following topics: discussions on solutions for organizing and implementing Resolution No. 33 on building and developing the culture and people of Nghe An; key issues in building and developing the culture and people of Nghe An today; and discussions on concretizing Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW to put the Resolution into practice and create a new turning point in building and developing the culture and people of Nghe An in the coming time.

Comrade Nguyen Hai Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs - suggested that, in the section on solutions for building a comprehensively developed Nghe An population, separate criteria should be developed for each target group to be more suitable in practice.

The delegates attending the meeting also discussed specific goals such as: by 2020, the number of culturally exemplary households reaching 83-85%; striving for 100% of communes, wards, and towns to have cultural, information, and sports facilities; ensuring 100% of households have television receiving equipment; and preparing 5-10 dossiers of intangible cultural heritage to propose to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for inclusion in the national list of intangible cultural heritage…

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to fully record the comments and suggestions from relevant departments and agencies in order to compile and advise the Provincial People's Committee.

At the same time, a coordinated and responsible effort from all departments, agencies, Party committees, local governments, and the entire population is needed to successfully build an advanced Nghe An culture, rich in national identity, truly becoming the spiritual foundation of society and a driving force for the province's development.

Furthermore, the goal is to develop the people of Nghe An comprehensively, oriented towards truth, goodness, and beauty, inheriting and promoting the revolutionary traditions of the homeland; closely linking cultural development with the construction of the socio-political system, ensuring national defense and security. The aim is to make Nghe An a center for finance, trade, tourism, education and training, science and technology, healthcare, culture, sports, and high-tech industries in the North Central region by 2020.
