(Baonghean.vn)- On December 24, the Military Region 4 Command held a workshop to summarize the tasks of building Defense Economic Zones and organizing Defense Economic Groups from 1998 to 2015.

Over the past 15 years of building the National Defense Economic Zone, the Party Committee and the Military Region 4 Command have focused on leading and directing the National Defense Economic Groups to actively and proactively exploit and integrate many capital sources, so the implementation value has reached 42.46% of the total investment.

Up to now, in the national defense economic zones, the electricity system, roads, schools and stations have developed; the commodity economy has been gradually formed; people's lives have gradually improved, culture and health have been significantly enhanced; the poverty rate has decreased from 75% to 42% (according to the old criteria); the political security situation in the areas of the national defense economic zones and borders has been consolidated and strengthened.

At the workshop, delegates highly agreed with the goal of building defense economic zones in the coming time, and agreed to propose that the Ministry of National Defense transfer defense economic groups 92, 4, 5 under the Military Region Command; study and adjust the payroll and organization; and reasonably arrange annual investment capital for projects...
