Ky Son: Building 270 solidarity houses for the poor

(Baonghean.vn) - The Ky Son District Mobilization Committee has mobilized 2.5 billion VND from the "Fund for the Poor", built 270 solidarity houses, supported thousands of trees, animals, goods, and provided 100 breeding cows for poor households.

On the afternoon of November 9, Ky Son district held a conference to summarize 15 years of implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life"; 20 years of implementing the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" (1995-2015) and 10 years of implementing a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals.

Over the years, the implementation of cultural movements has had a positive impact on many areas of social life, contributing to changing the face; improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, creating an important driving force to successfully carry out political, economic, cultural and social tasks in the district.

Rewarding groups and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Up to now, Ky Son district has 93/193 blocks, villages, 14 communes with community cultural houses, 82/193 blocks, villages, 29 agencies, 54% of families achieving cultural titles, the poverty rate has decreased to 52.79%, the average income per capita in 2015 is estimated at 15 million VND/year.

Domestic violence, child marriage, and social evils have been pushed back. Most blocks and villages have built and implemented effective conventions and village regulations; many good customs and practices have been maintained.

Over the past 20 years, the District Mobilization Committee has mobilized 2.5 billion VND from the “Fund for the Poor”, built 270 solidarity houses, supported thousands of trees, animals, goods, and provided 100 breeding cows for poor households. Mobilized contributions to eliminate temporary houses for 75 poor households, repaired and upgraded houses for 219 households...

At the conference, Ky Son district awarded 12 collectives and 43 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the movements.
