Unique costumes of Mong people in Nghe An

While the Thai and Kho Mu people have similarities in costumes, the Mong people are completely different. Since ancient times, this traditional costume has always been preserved in the community and used by the Mong people in festivals. Today, although the costumes have many new innovations to suit the trend, they still basically retain their own unique features from decorative patterns to the way they are worn.

The Mong women’s hats are elaborately made and decorated. In the past, Mong men often selected beautiful girls to be their wives, and the “beauties” often wore hats with many tassels and patterns like this. Therefore, today, Mong girls still wear these hats to show off their beauty.
