In this airstrike, France continued to use "10 fighter jets, including Rafale and Mirage 2000 aircraft – deployed from air bases in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Jordan" and conducted 16 bombing runs.

The attack reportedly destroyed a command center and a training camp almost simultaneously.

Earlier, on the evening of November 15, France carried out 20 bombing raids targeting an IS stronghold in Rakka.

Following the series of attacks on Paris on the evening of November 13, French President Hollande warned that France would respond without mercy to the crimes of terrorism.

To substantiate its claims, France is increasing its intelligence sharing with other nations regarding potential attack targets. The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has also been deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean to “triple the effectiveness of operations”.
