During this airstrike, France continued to use “10 fighter jets including Rafale and Mirage 2000 aircraft – mobilized from air bases in the United Arab Emirates and Jordan” and conducted 16 bombing runs.
The attack is believed to have destroyed a command center and a training camp almost simultaneously.
Previously, on the evening of November 15, France conducted 20 bombing raids on the IS stronghold in Rakka.
After a series of attacks in Paris on the evening of November 13, French President Hollande warned that France would respond uncompromisingly to the crimes of terrorism.
To back up its claims, France is increasing its intelligence sharing with other countries about potential attack targets. The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has also been deployed to the Eastern Mediterranean to “triple the effectiveness of operations.”
