Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) announced that from January 26th, Hanoi Railway Transport Company will officially launch a new, high-quality passenger train service, SE5/SE6, on the Hanoi - Saigon route. This is another step forward in continuously improving service quality and bringing the best products to train passengers, especially during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Monkey).
The carriages on the SE5/SE6 trains have modern interiors and equipment, a well-designed and spacious layout, creating a comfortable feeling for passengers and, importantly, minimizing noise; all blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattresses are brand new. The restrooms have been renovated to meet standards and do not harm the environment. In addition, the train also has a dining car serving snacks and refreshments.

According to Ms. Phung Thi Ly Ha, Deputy General Director of the company, despite the upgrade, the ticket prices for the SE5/SE6 trains remain unchanged compared to the previous SE5/SE6 trains. For the four-berth soft sleeper compartment, the ticket price from Hanoi to Saigon is 1,320,000 VND per person. The cheapest seated ticket from Hanoi to Saigon costs 548,000 VND per person.
On its launch day, the railway will offer discounted fares to passengers, with reductions of 30% - 50% compared to the prices of trains currently running on the Hanoi - Saigon route. Specifically, after the discount, the fare for the entire journey from Hanoi to Saigon will be only from 274,000 VND/ticket.
Trains SE5/SE6 run daily between Hanoi and Saigon and vice versa. Train SE5 departs from Hanoi Station at 9:00 AM the previous day and arrives at Saigon Station at 8:03 PM the following day; similarly, Train SE6 departs from Saigon Station at 9:00 AM and arrives at Hanoi Station at 8:03 PM the following evening.
Train SE5/SE6 will stop to pick up and drop off passengers at the following stations: Hanoi, Phu Ly, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Bim Son, Thanh Hoa, Cho Sy, Vinh, Yen Trung, Huong Pho, Dong Le, Dong Hoi, Dong Ha, Hue, Lang Co, Da Nang, Tam Ky, Nui Thanh, Quang Ngai, Bong Son, Dieu Tri, Tuy Hoa, Ninh Hoa, Nha Trang, Thap Cham, Binh Thuan, Long Khanh, Bien Hoa, Saigon.
