Two gas stations caught red-handed installing six fraudulent chips.

Both gas stations are managed by Hanoi Fuel Corporation; one is located on Tran Khat Chan Street (Hai Ba Trung District) and the other in Yen Vien (Gia Lam District).

According to Mr. Hoang Dai Nghia, Team Leader of Market Management Team No. 14 - Hanoi Market Management Department, following the direction of the Department's leadership, the unit, in coordination with the Economic Security Department of the Hanoi City Police and the local Market Management team, simultaneously inspected and uncovered fraud at two gas stations on Tran Khat Chan and Yen Vien streets.

The inspection was carried out simultaneously from 9:00 AM today, December 24th, and concluded at just after 1:00 PM the same day. Each gas station had three fuel pumps, and all three were equipped with chips designed to defraud customers of fuel. In total, authorities identified, sealed, and temporarily seized six chips from six fuel pumps. “The chips were installed very cleverly and operated remotely by gas station employees,” said the commander of Market Management Team No. 14.

Following the incident, the gas station announced a "temporary closure".

Currently, authorities have sealed off and ordered the temporary suspension of operations at these two gas stations; they have also requested the Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality to investigate the extent of the violations as a basis for handling the case.
