Arrest of child molestation suspect

(Baonghean.vn)- On January 24, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Manh Truong, Captain of the Drug and Crime Prevention Team of Nam Can Border Guard Station (Ky Son) said: the unit has just investigated and arrested a subject for having sexual intercourse with a minor.

Previously, Nam Can Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Va Ba Xong, born in 1993, residing in Nam Can commune (Ky Son district) stating that on January 21, Mr. Xong's younger sister, Va YM, born in 2002, an 8B grade student (Nam Can commune's boarding secondary school for ethnic minorities) went missing at around 12 noon the same day.

The family went to look for him and was told by P, a villager, that at around 12:15 p.m. that same day, they saw VYM riding a motorbike with two young men to National Highway 7.

Immediately after receiving the report, Nam Can Border Guard Station verified the above information and coordinated with relevant forces to find M. At around 12:00 on January 22, the drug and crime prevention reconnaissance force of Nam Can Station discovered M with Duong Van Phuc, born in 1988, permanent residence in Hamlet 5, Dinh Son Commune (Anh Son District).

The station requested Phuc and M to return to Nam Can station for further investigation and clarification. Through the incident report, M and Phuc's statements showed that the incident had signs of sexual intercourse with a minor.

Currently, Nam Can Border Guard Station has handed over the subject and case file to the authorities for further investigation according to their authority.
